The Surviving Object is an open-ended investigation into the afterlife of artworks as material and digital objects. These etchings were originally made within the lifeworld of Romantic Anti-Capitalist defiance. They now re-emerge into a contemporary space which also desires to hold the market at bay. Just as the physical international networks of the nineteenth century unintentionally permitted the first materialisation and dispersal of their critical visuality, the digital network of the twenty-first century unconsciously now enables their material re-connection and re-articulation.

The Surviving Object was installed at Project 78 Gallery, St Leonards on Sea, 2 April -10 May 2026.
